Grading, the way Kerala State Board grades
The academic year runs June to March. Each stage gets its own scale, and marks entered once become the gradebook, the progress card and the parent's screen.
| Stage | Scale | Grades | Pass mark |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary | State board gradesA default to check | A+, A, B+, B, C, D | 35% |
| Upper Primary | State board gradesA default to check | A+, A, B+, B, C, D | 35% |
| High School | Kerala SSLC | A+, A, B+, B, C+, C, D+, D, E | 30% |
| Higher Secondary | State board gradesA default to check | A+, A, B+, B, C, D | 35% |
The year's assessments, already planned
These arrive with their weights, so the term result adds up without a spreadsheet beside it. This plan is a common pattern rather than the board's prescribed one; change it to match yours.
| Term | Assessment | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Onam Term | Continuous Assessment | 16.7% |
| Onam Term | First Term Examination | 16.66% |
| Christmas Term | Continuous Assessment | 16.66% |
| Christmas Term | Second Term Examination | 16.66% |
| Annual Term | Continuous Assessment | 16.66% |
| Annual Term | Annual Examination | 16.66% |
